  • colors

crimson on a blue and white flag
drips down a finger on a trigger
washes over a rocket waiting to be launched
flows out of a pen signing legislation
    clots on a machine tool
threads its way into a dollar bill
    is it the red
in the red white and blue?

lots of things happened, not so much blogging.  i’ve been lazy, mostly just posting at stumble.  but happy new year to all. my aunt passed away on the 16th.  she was an amazing person, even on wikipedia.  she edited a journal on artbooks, which is still up.  i guess that my brother and i will have to figure out if there is someone who can keep it going.  i miss her much, particularly since she is one of the few links to my mom’s side of the family.  it’s a bit scary, actually, since my aunt, mom, and my uncle (he died at 3 years old) all died from leukemia, although there isn’t any known genetically transmitted leukemia now.

otherwise, things go on.  the state is a mess, economically and otherwise.  we’re on the brink of more budget cuts, even after the required 20 + 8% that we have already experienced.  so hopefully i’ll still have a job at the end of the legislative session, but we’ll see.
